Daniel F. (Danny)'s Story
I joined the Marines after school (1963).Married Gretchen , had two boys and lots of fights so she came home to Calif and I stayed in N.C.
I was an electronics tech. on a top secret airplane that Grumman aircraft were building for the Viet Nam war. I spent some time in New York at the factory and returned to Cherry Point N.C. Then off to sea aboard the Roosevelt aircraft carrier, then to Puerto Rico for the Santo Domingo crises and many more travels in the Marines. Our primary job was training for Viet Nam but our secondary job was reconnaisence around Cuba. My squadron was used for both photography and electronic surrveillance of Castro. I finished my time in the Marines in August of 1967. At that time I had a rock&roll band playing 7 nights a week. I met my future wife while playing in the band.

a salesman at the Ford store,so I took it.I guess I was a natural, they put me in management and sent me to a lot of schools.
After 5 years I bought a partnership in a Mazda store, we were successfull and sold it after 14 years.
I then started a boat store selling Suzuki motors and became the top dealer in America for four years until I sold the store.
Then my # 3 son Danny (boone) and wife Ginny started Boones truck center Inc. We sell a few cars and trucks and a little real estate to stay busy.
We have been married 41 years have two great children, Boone and Teresa. WE rescue stray dogs and cats and have a ton of both.
For my retired years I have been elected to city council twice (4years each) so I have plenty to do.
I have been blessed in many ways but like all of you, there have been some rocks in the road. I wouldn't have done it any other way.
